International Week of Deaf
Every year, ISLRTC celebrates International Week of Deaf People (IWDP) to spread awareness about ISL. IWDP was initiated by the World Federation of the Deaf and is celebrated annually in the 3rd or the last week of September.
In 2022, the Centre celebrated IWDP from 19th to 25th September, on the theme “Building inclusive communities for all” by spreading awareness in online mode. Students of DTISL and DISLI developed videos in ISL with audio explaining the daily themes of the week. In addition, live sessions were conducted on the daily themes and broadcast live. Both the videos and the live sessions were uploaded to ISLRTC’s YouTube channels. In addition, an ISL awareness session was conducted at Jawaharlal Nehru University on 24th September,
2022 for faculty and staff.
